New Railing and Wainscoting in Cherry Hill New Jersey

The photos below will show that Lomonaco's Iron Concepts is a full service stair and custom carpentry company. We installed new treads and risers, new custom made box newels and wooden handrail with Tuscan style iron balusters. we also installed all the wainscoting going up the stairway.

This job presented a major challenge. The homeowner installed the hardwood flooring without realizing some of the issues that he encounter once it came time to do the railing and steps.

We identified the structural problems and went over them with the homeowner and he understood what needed to be be done. The other challenge that we had to overcome was matching the wood grain and look.

The hardwood flooring was Bolivian Rosewood and was absolutely gorgeous. the problem with this is that they don't make treads and rail components in Bolivian Rosewood.

This was a challenge at first but with the experience of the designers and craftsman at Lomonaco's Iron Concepts and the many resources that we have at our fingertips, this challenge turned out not to be as difficult as originally thought.

We researched and came up with the conclusion that we could use Cherry for the handrail and bottom skirtboard and Tiete Rosewood for the treads. Once everything was professionally stained and painted by Lomonaco's Iron Concepts everything came to life.

As you can see in the photo to the right we made the wainscoting very simple with clean lines. This blends in nicely with the risers that are painted white.

The large box newel posts that you see on this job were not bought, they were custom made by Lomonaco's Iron Concepts to fit the specifications needed to pull this job together. the box newels were made out of clear poplar and painted white to give a dramatic contract between the handrail, treads and iron balusters but yet tied in with the risers and wainscoting.

Custom Iron Work in Sewell New Jersey

Lomonaco's Iron Concepts fabricated and installed this beautiful custom made shelf. This piece of iron is made from 3/4" square hammered tubing. The front of the shelf is then precision rolled using a state of the art roller to the exact radius needed to match the designers print. Lomonaco's Iron Concepts applied a hand polished finish to the metal for a elegant look.

You can see that within the design we used not only hammered steel components but also solid brass components. If you look closely, mounted within the diamonds are solid brass medallions.

Lomonaco's Iron Concepts imported these brass medallions directly from Italy to ensure that they will not be duplicated very easily. We then proceeded to polish them to a mirror look and then applied a clear coat to ensure they stay looking like the day they were first polished.

This particular piece has a piece of 1/4" annealed glass with polished edges and a light bronze tint. If you would like to have a piece of custom iron work designed for a specific area in your home call Lomonaco's Iron Concepts today at 856-740-1071 or email us at sales@LomonacosIronConcepts.com and we will schedule for our designer to meet with you.

Deck Balusters & Copper Post Caps

A lot of people don't realize that you can use iron balusters for your deck rails. they can be intermixed with many of the wood and composite decking materials on the market today. You will see in this photo that the homeowner used the 1" flat iron balusters with the bow out on the bottom. We call this a belly buster baluster. A little bit of a tongue twister I know, but nevertheless they add a lot of character to the deck.

This particular deck is made with composite materials. You can see that with iron balusters installed it gives you that old world look of of Italy.

When installing the iron balusters on the face of the horizontal rails Lomonaco's Iron Concepts only uses stainless steel fasteners. This insures that there will be no rusting fasteners and rust lines running down the face of your beautiful deck.

Lomonaco's Iron Concepts can take your old deck and breathe new life back into it. Call today  856-740-1071 or email us at sales@LomonacosIronConcepts.com to speak to one of our designers and let Lomonaco's Iron Concepts update your deck.

Complete Stairway Makeover in East Brunswick NJ

Lomonaco's Iron Concepts took the existing stairway from bland to grand. This stairway originally had gray carpet on it and then we stepped in. We removed all the carpet and staples on the steps and intermediate landing in preparation for new hardwoods. This customer had already had Santos Mahogany flooring installed on the lower level floors so we used mahogany for all the wood rail and stair components except for the risers.

Because the risers were getting painted on this job we did not have to use mahogany. We were able to use poplar for the risers which is a real an affordable species of wood and it paints up real nice and smooth.

We used solid mahogany wood planks on the landing. By doing this it makes the landing look exactly like the treads on the steps. this gives the stairway a continuous look all the way down the stairs.

Lomonaco's Iron Concepts makes using matching wood planks on the landing a job standard not an upgrade. Lomonaco's Iron Concepts is one of the leading suppliers and installers of iron balusters, treads and risers in the south jersey area.

The picture to the right is a close up of the bottom stainless steel shoes. These shoes are not available to be used in an angled baluster application. I know what you're thinking, this guy is not looking at the photo right?

I am looking at the photo and I can tell you that Lomonaco's Iron Concepts has state of the art equipment to tackle the challenges that other companies cannot.

I made a custom jig to the precise angle of the stairway and by using my milling machine, I milled these these stainless steel shoes to be able to be used on a angled rail.

My client told me that they had several other companies in their surrounding area meet with them and they all told them that what I did couldn't be done. I guess they would feel foolish if they read this blog.

Lomonaco's Iron Concepts has over 25 years experience in the stair rail industry. We look for the challenges that other companies either don't have the expertise to solve or just walk away without even trying. If you would like to meet with me John Lomonaco, leading rail designer and have me design a beautiful custom stairway for your home call me today at 856-740-1071 or email me directly at John@LomonacosIronConcepts.com and I'll make sure we get you scheduled for a free in-home consultation.

Custom Iron Coffe Table in South Jersey!

Lomonaco's Iron Concepts designed and fabricated the coffee table in the picture to the right for a client in south jersey. This iron table was designed and fabricated by John Lomonaco Sr., the owner of Lomonaco's Iron Concepts.

The design was inspired from a picture in  magazine of a railing overlooking the coastline of Italy. I then took that inspiration and was able to incorporate it in my table design.

The material used on this piece is all furniture grade steel. The wavy bars are made from 3/8" square solid bar and bent on one of custom iron benders for exact precision.

The legs on this table were cut out of a piece of 4" x 1/4" steel plate. I then started to taper them evenly on each side to form a nice consistent form. I then proceeded to curve, bend and form the leg to the exact size they needed to be.

I ordered the granite from All Marble & Granite in Cherry Hill. I've used them for all my granite needs. I highly recommend them to anyone needing granite, marble, tile etc... If you would like to have some custom iron work designed for your home give me a call at 856-740-1071 or email directly at John@LomonacosIronConcepts.com and we'll start designing your custom iron decor today!

Custom Made Flower Pot in Sewell, New Jersey

John Lomonaco of Lomonaco's Iron Concepts designed this flower pot as a surprise for his wife. The flower pot is made from #16gauge sheet metal and is rolled to form a funnel effect. The decorative scroll legs are made out of 1 1/4" x 5/16" hammered flat bar. The ends of the scrolls are then hand forged and flared out for a dramatic look.

This piece of custom iron work was a surprise for my wife for Christmas a few years back. Once I gave it to my wife she picked out all the flowers she wanted to match the color tones of our house. She then worked with a local florist to bring all the flowers to life.

Lomonaco's Iron Concepts fabricated this custom piece of iron work, powder coated the piece in a gold metallic finish and installed the unit with the large steel vase.

Custom Modern Railing In Sewell, New Jersey

Lomonaco's Iron Concepts took an empty stairway and turned it into something spectacular. This is a complete metal railing with a metal top moulding. This particular railing had to be measured with exact detail. Lomonaco's Iron Concepts drew the entire stairway on paper in the fabrication shop. We then proceeded to cut all vertical balusters to the proper angle, drill and tap the top of the baluster for field assembly.

The homeowner wanted this railing to have a modern feel to it. The designers at Lomonaco's Iron Concepts went to work and used a 1" x 2" heavy wall rectangular tube for he handrail.

The entire rail system was assembled on site and installed with seamless precision. Lomonaco's Iron Concepts powder coated this railing in a Designer Gun Metal finish. The Gun Metal finish is becoming so very popular in our stairway makeovers that we now stock it.

If you are interested in a custom stairway makeover in your home call Lomonaco's Iron Concepts today or email me directly at John@LomonacosIronConcepts.com and I'll personally make sure your information gets forwarded to the proper department.

Custom Driveway Gates

Lomonaco's Iron Concepts can make your driveway entrance go from bland to grand. The designers at Lomonaco's Iron Concepts have been designing custom iron work both interior and exterior for their clients for over 20 years.

As you can  see in the photo to the right, this set of driveway gates spans over 14' wide and 8' tall. The design work is made from 5/8" solid square bar and is completely hand forged by the our artisans.

There is no detail that is not considered. The bottom of the driveway gates has a 1/8" solid steel kick plate with medallions bolted on.

We were given a rough drawing by the homeowner of what they were looking for. They wanted something decorative but not to the point where your vision of the home would be taunted.

I think we pulled off what they were looking for. All the scroll work in these custom made driveway gates is hand forged and the gates are powder coated in a semi-gloss satin black finish. Timeless Look in Deptford, New Jersey

This home in Deptford, New Jersey was taken to another level. Lomonaco's Iron Concepts & Home Decor installed all new handrail ( #6900 Raleigh Jr. Profile ) my favorite and signature handrail. All new reeded newel post ( #4810-R ) with all posts being attached under the handrail for a continuous flow.

As you can see in the photo we have all kinds of curves and jump ups in the handrail configuration to create that continuous flow. Lomonaco's Iron Concepts & Home Decor is one of the only stair companies out there that specialize in mounting the post under the handrail.

As you can see in this photo we used solid iron balusters from the Twist Collection by House Of Forgings. The iron balusters are in our designer Copper Vein finish and it is one of the oldest designer colors out there that has been able to test the taste of time.
Lomonaco's Iron Concepts only uses solid iron balusters in all of our railing designs. The design in this photo in one of the most popular design configurations I install. To me you get a lot of bang for your buck by mixing the Twist & Scroll Series together to form one beautiful looking stair rail.

Iron Balusters, Wood Handrail & Treads in Haddon Twp, New Jersey

In this home in Haddon Twp. everything was decorated beautifully except the stairway. My job was to take this ugly stairway from blah to ta dah! We removed green carpet from the stairs and installed new solid maple treads and stained and painted risers in poplar. By removing carpet from your stairway and replacing it with hardwood steps it gives you the illusion that your stairway is bigger than it seems.

On this job all the wood rail components came from Carolina Stairs. They are my number one supplier for wood rail components. At Lomonaco's Iron Concepts we only use the finest of materials on the market and never jeopardize quality for price. Carolina's wood components are very consistent in quality, dimension, grain and color.

The iron balusters I used on this job came from House Of Forgings. They are my most popular supplier of powder coated balusters however at Lomonaco's Iron Concepts we have the ability to custom powder coat iron components for stair rail parts to custom table bases, coffee tables, mirror frames and much much more.

Lomonaco's Iron Concepts is one of the leading suppliers of  powder coated balusters from many of the finest manufacturers in the world. We have the ability to import iron and aluminum balusters from Canada, Italy, New England and France. These countries make the finest quality iron balusters on the market today.

If you are in need of a new rail system, new stairway or just want to switch out your builders grade white wooden spindles to powder coated iron balusters, Lomonaco's Iron Concepts is the place to go. Give our office a call at 856-740-1071 or email me directly at John@LomonacosIronConcepts.com and I'll personally make sure your information goes to the proper personnel and they will contact you to set up for you free in-home consultation.

Exterior Aluminum Railings in Shamong, New Jersey

Here we are again in Shamong, New Jersey. We went back to the home where we installed the iron balcony rail and trellis. the customer wanted to make the area by the front doors look more estately looking and also pull some of the elements from the balcony rail above and incorporate them into the step railings.

At Lomonaco's Iron Concepts this task is not much of a challenge. With over 20+ years in the ornamental iron business we have the experience to satisfy even the most complicated of challenges. We used the same profile bars in the step rails as we did in the balcony rail ( 3/4" square furniture grade tubing ) only in the rails they are aluminum not steel. In fact the entire rail system is fabricated using all aluminum components.

We used large square posts ( 2 1/2" ) along with decorative ball caps to give them the eastately look they wanted. By using aluminum one of the key benefits is they are maintenance free! That's right you heard me correctly, they are maintenance free. No more painting your exterior railings every couple of years because of rust or peeling paint.

If you would like to have Lomonaco's Iron Concepts come out to look at your iron work needs give the office a call at 856-740-1071 or email me directly at John@LomonacosIronConcepts.com and I'll personally make sure your information gets to the proper personnel.

Custom Iron Work In Shamong, New Jersey

Lomonaco's Iron Concepts designed this custom balcony rail and trellis. The client said to me John, I need you to make my boring front to my house come to life. I responded, no problem, we will design something that will make your house go from ordinary to extraordinary.

I went to work for my customer and within a week or so time I had a design that satisfied the customers request. the main frame of the balcony was fabricated out of 1 1/4" square furniture grade tubing. The bowed bars are 3/4" square furniture grade tubing. All the scroll work on the balcony rail and trellis is made out of solid steel and welded together to form one solid panel.

As you can see the balcony rail has made a dramatic effect to the exterior of this home. The balcony rail is put through a three stage automatic wash system to optimize the cleaning process and prepare the rail for painting.

We then proceeded to apply a baked on powder coated finish in satin black. Black is one of the richest colors and it withstands the test of time.

The iron trellis is fabricated with 1" square furniture grade steel tubing. All the bars that make up the grid pattern are 1/2" square furniture grade steel tubing. The knuckles welded onto the bars that make up part of the design of the trellis are solid cast iron knuckles and are completely welded top and bottom for strength and protection against corrosion.

The scroll pattern in the trellis is the same design and method as used in the balcony rail above. the trellis is wedged into the ground with long legs extending down into the earth and the top is bolted to the house.

All areas where the iron would be touching the stucco on the house is protected with heavy gauge rubber so the newly custom iron pieces wouldn't get scratched during installation. All the fasteners used on exterior iron work is stainless steel so there is no rusting issue. As you can see Lomonaco's Iron Concepts take more precautionary steps to assure complete customer satisfaction not only in the design and appearance of the custom iron work but also in the functionality and astectics.

Custom Iron Railing Panel in Haddonfield, New Jersey

Lomonaco's Iron Concepts custom made this iron panel from a picture out of a magazine. Now the iron panel was not designed to match the picture given exactly. The homeowner gave some leway for Lomonaco's Iron Concepts to put there individual stamp on the design.

As you can see this decorative panel is used as the focal point of this balcony rail overlooking the family room.

Lomonaco's Iron Concepts fabricated this decorative iron panel using all solid steel components, bending them the necessary angles and curving them to the proper radius' to form this beautiful piece of iron art.

This panel was cleaned up by hand by the artisians at Lomonaco's Iron Concepts. It was then put through a three stage automatic wash system which ensures a perfectly clean surface for painting.

Lomonaco's Iron Concepts then proceeded to apply a decorative baked on satin black powder coated finish to this beautiful piece of art. The moment the panel came out of  the oven this piece of art came to life. Once the homeowner saw the panel installed in their home they were amazed at the dramatic effect it has on the entire rail system. It is truely the focal point of the entire rail system.

When designing your new stairway, a staircase designer will walk you through the entire process. With so many options available to express your own sense of style we're sure that Lomonaco's Iron Concepts has what your looking for.

Stair Refinishing vs Stair Refacing

Refinishing Your Stairs: Four Important Questions You Should Ask Yourself Before Starting!

Carpeted stairs have fallen out of fashion lately. What's hot these days is hardwood - beautiful, oak, cherry, maple, walnut, or mahogany. Making the switch from carpet to wood, could have some pitfalls.

Maybe you've pulled the old carpet off your stairs and are thinking about refinishing the wood underneath. This seems like a simple, straight-forward solution, but there are a few things you should know first. Here are four questions you'll want to ask yourself to make sure refinishing is a good choice for you:

Question 1: How tolerant are you to chaos?
Refinishing a staircase is a big, messy job - stripping off the old varnish; running the sander for hours with dust flying everywhere; applying several coats of the new varnish and letting them dry; hoping the varnish goes on evenly, waiting at least 48 hours for the final coat to dry completely; and finally - cleaning up the dust that settled throughout the house during the process.

Stair refinishing will also disrupt life as you know it in your home - even if you hire someone else to do the work for you. there will be several days when you won;t be able to use  the stairs at all. You'll have to hope you don't forget to bring everything down from the bedrooms that you are going to need. and don't forget the air mattresses since most likely you' ll be sleeping on the floor.

If you're determined to refinish, there is a way to keep the stairs in use throughout the staining and varnishing process, although it will double the total time. All you have to do is apply the coats of stain and varnish to every other step, let it dry completely (48 hrs.), and then do the remaining stairs. Of course, this will only work if all members of the household are capable of going up and down the steps two at a time.

Question 2. What kind of wood are your stairs made of?
You might be lucky and discover a hardwood like oak or maple under the old carpet. If it turns out to be a softer wood like pine, you'll want to think twice about refinishing - a soft wood is not going to hold up well under the  kinf of traffic your stairway gets. If you're not sure what kind of wood you have, try digging your  fingernail into it. If it makes a dent, it's not a good candidate for refinishing.

Question 3. Are you a passionate do-it-yourselfer?
If you are, and if you have a lot of free time, and a  very patient family, then this might be the challenging and satisfying project for you. If not, it's best to admit it upfront and hire someone to refinish your stairs for you. Of course this means that you will basically be paying someone's salary for a week or more. And you'll still be stuck with the mess and inconvenience.

Question 4. When your stairs are unusable for several days, will your family still have access to a full bathroom?
This should be obvious, but it's suprising how many people don't think of it.

Is there another solution? YES... Stair ReFacing!

We've painted a very bleak, but realistic picture of the stair refinishing process. Fortunately, you have another option - short of ripping out your existing stairs and starting all over - it's called Stair Refacing!

OurvReFacing process, step-by-step:

Step 1. When Lomonaco's Iron Concepts re-faces your stairway, we bigin by taking accurate measurements of your treads and risers. If any of the steps are curved, we make exact templates ( patterns ) for them. With over 35 years experience in the stair industry, odd shapes and sizes are no problem for us.

Step 2. You select your favorite look from four of the most popular hardwoods - oak, maple, cherry, walnut - and five different stain tones. For the risers, you can either match your treads, or have them painted white. this gives you a choice of forty different finish combinations for your new wood stairs!

Step 3. We have your treads and risers custom-built to fit perfectly. Each component can be pre-finished to your specifications which means you won't have to wait for stain and varnish to dry while making your stairs unusable.

Step 4. Once your components are completed, we install them over your existing stairs. the "nose" of each old tread ( the part that sticks out ) is carefully removed to allow for a perfect fit. Having Lomonaco's Iron Concepts' expert crafsman install your new stairs for you guarantees your complete satisfaction with the results.

In summary, Lomonaco's Iron Concepts' stair Re-Facing means:

No mess

No disruption

Lots more options

Decorating Accessories

Accessorizing Ideas
Decorating takes the same approach as fashion: just a few carefully selected accessories can turn an ordinary room into something extraordiaqnry. What's more, it's the single best wya to play up your personality.
Decorative accessories throughout your house need not be of the same vintage, either. In fact, it's much more interesting to mix old with new, fine objects with found items, hand-me-downs with newly purchased pieces. You'll be surprised by the number of treasures you'll find that blend beautifully into your scheme.

Wall Art
We're long past the day when wall art consistyed solely of paintings, posters, or prints. Today we're more inclined to let our imaginations run wild, including anything that can be supported by a nail in the wall. From decorative plates to architectural elements-even store signs, boat oars, or a criss-crossed pair of skis-wall art truly is in the eye of the beholder.

Collectibles
Accessories that fall into the collectibles category offer some ofthe best ways to express your personal style. They are, after all, pieces that you find yourself drawn to time after time. When displaying collectibles of any kind, it's important not to break up the set. Pieces grouped together make a greater impression than those spread throughout a room or throughout the house. Keep in mind, too, that an odd number of objects is more interesting than an even number, particularly if you're working with just a few items.

Mantels
When it comes to accessorizing a mantel, there's not a thing wrong with the proverbial picture over the fireplace, especially if it's the family portrait. There's no right or wrong; no matter what you select it should reflect your personality and the personality of the room.

Soft Stuff
In any well-designed room, the difference is in the details, especially when it comes to the soft touches. A pillow here, a cozy throw there, they all add up top a sense or warmth-both figuratively and literally.
There's a proliferation of pillows available today, from highly decorative swtyles to those that all but make you laugh out loud.  And there's an equally vast assortment of throws, woven in yars so soft that you won't wait for a chill in the air before wrapping up in one. The same goes for bed linens, too. We've come a long way since the days of having single bedspread; today, our beds have multiple dressings that make the bed even more of a focal point in the bedroom. The important thing to remember, in all cases, is to mix, don't match. You'll find that the results will be infinitely more interesting.

Decorating is about being creative, bold, taking risks and trying something new. There's no right or wrong, only what works for you and your home.

Lomonaco's Home Decor will offer many options and ideas for every room in the house. To spark your own creativity and to help you create a home that reflects your personality. Floor Coverings:
Floors are the largest area where you can add dramatic impact. At the same time, however, they have to be practical. Because there is something stylish for every budget, start by figuring how much you have to spend. Next , consider the space itself; who will be using it and how?

A vast assortment of floor coverings is available. Carpet includes wall-to-wall options as well as area rugs and natural fibers such as seagrass and bamboo. Hardwood has its own variations, too, ranging from light to dark and from narrow to wide. Resilient flooring encompasses vinyl as well as rubber and cork. Meanwhile nonresilients include everything from ceramic tile to stone. Flooring decisions become even more complicated because some types reeplicate others. For instance, vinyl can mimic the look of marble, giving you the function of the former and the look of the latter-all without spending a fortune. The bottom line: You can have anything you set your sights on.

Carpet
There's nothing like the feeling of carpet under your bare feet. But its advantages are much more far-reaching than comfort. Color and pattern are high on its list of assets; the right carpet can be the starting point for a scheme or provide a stunning focal point. In addition, it reduces noise and conserves energy.
Carpet options include synthetics, such as nylon and polyester, and natural fibers, such as wool and silk. Whatever your preference, make sure the type of carpet you select matches your need for the area.

Hardwoods
Hardwood flooring compliments everything from traditional to contemporary settings. Even better, its easy to care for and it can be refinished to restore its original beauty. Oak is the most popular species, thanks to its durability. But there is a welath of other species available, too, including maple, cherry, mahogany, bamboo and many more. If your looking for something more rustic, consider reclaimed lumber.

Resilient Flooring
Resilient flooring typically finds its way into everyone's home in some form or another. Characteristically softer and quiter than other flooring options, it ranges from vinyl to rubber to cork, even linoleum.
As a whole, resilient flooring is easy to maintain, making it a good choice for kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms and mudrooms.

Nonresilient Flooring
Ifyou're not sure what "nonresilient" flooring is, just think in terms of hard surfaces. A wide variety of flooring fits into this category- ceramic and terra-cottaquary tiles, marble, slate, brick and concrete. Each one offers a striking look all on its own or pair it with another flooring material for that one-of-a-kind look.

Lighting Options
A balanced approach is the key to any well-lit room. Each room requires three types of lighting-ambient, task and accent. With the right combination, thers sufficient illumination at all levels; you can see your way from one room to the next, read a book or even draw attention to a special work of art.
the beauty of this three-prong approach is that it provides visual excitement, too. With a variety of lamps at eye level, wall sconces a little higher, and fixtures overhead, a well-balanced lighting plan creates light and dark areas that spotlight some items and leave others subtly in the shadows.

Ambient Options
On its most basic level, ambient lighting allows a person to walk safely through a room. Ambient lighting gives a room a soft, overall glow. It also provides a support system for task and accent lighting.
One of the best sources of general illumination is recessed lighting, in which spotlights are placed evenly throughout a room. track lighting is another good choice because you can position its movable fixture to create a comfortable ambience.

Task Lighting
Task lighting shed light on activities. Whether it's reading or writing, working on a craft project, or playing the piano, task lighting will make the job easier. As a rule, lighting fitted with soft white bulbs, as opposed to clear bulbs, is better because the light is easier on the eyes. To further control glare, use a three-way bulb or dimmer. It's also important that task lighting illuminate evenly; one side of the magazine your reading should not be darker than the other.

Accent Lighting
Purely decorative, accent lighting adds drama to a room. It can be used to highlight a favorite painting or simply wash a wall with a light. Spotlights and track lights are most commonly used as accents because their light can be precisely aimed at an object. Other sources include sconces and uplights. Accent lighting should always be brighter than ambient lighting.

Iron Baluster Differences

Lomonaco's Iron Concepts is one of the leading staircase renovation companies in South Jersey. We offer an extensive line of powder coated balusters and ornamental iron products from the leading suppliers in North America. We take pride in knowing that all our products are made by skilled craftsman and go through many quality control inspections to assure our customers that they are receiving the best products on the market. Be sure to as you sales representative from Lomonaco's Iron Concepts about all the different options when you are designing your new stairway railing.

Stamped Balusters:
Stamped Balusters are heated red-hot and are pressed into a design by skilled craftsman. We offer a variety of stamped designs, from a simple concave or "spoon" design to an intricate leaf or "harvest" design. We are constantly expanding our product lines so please be sure to ask your sales representative from Lomonaco's Iron Concepts about them.

Twisted Balusters:
Twisted Balusters are made of square material up to one inch thick. A plain bar can be twisted, or an existing baluster type can have a twist applied to it for effect ( selected products ). Some scrolled balusters and basket balusters also contain a twisted section. Our custom crafting capabilities allow us to make twists with varying degrees of length and tightness. A twist can be dense and short, located in the middle of the baluster, loose and applied over the length of the baluster, or to match your own specifications. Be sure to ask you Lomonaco's Iron Concepts representative for details.

Forged Balusters:
Forging is an ancient technique used to heat up a bar and either hand hammer the bar into a pattern or hammer out a design. A forged baluster is one solid piece that is heated red-hot and formed into a pattern. The forged baluster works in many modern homes while maintaining a classical feel, and is becoming more popular in contemporary settings with a clean finished look. Be sure to ask your Lomonaco's Iron Concepts representative for details.

Basket Balusters:
Basket balusters are probably the most versatile of balusters. Because baskets are so versatile they can be made with round or square material. Baskets vary in size from 4" to 13" and can  have round, oval, or elongated appearances. Baskets are found in many iron products such as railings, gate, balconies, candleholders, and at the end of curtain rods. Be sure to ask your Lomonaco's Iron Concepts representative
about details and other uses for basket balusters.
